The town of glassmaking, beauties of nature and monuments of rural architecture lies on the boundary of Český ráj, Krkonoše and Jizerské hory. The surrounding rolling countryside is good for pleasure hiking and cycle touring. Jizera attracts lovers of water sports. The location of the town is also good for winter sports - cross-country and downhill skiing.

The oldest part of the town has been preserved around Malé náměstí, dominated by the Church of St. James the Greater. There are some other monuments in Železný Brod, such as the Church of St. John of Nepomuk in the Desert, a place of traditional St. John's pilgrimages, Municipal Museum with glass and ethnographic expositions.

Malé náměstí is also a starting point for walks in Trávníky, a historical town reserve and part of Železný Brod with preserved timbered and brick houses. You will see numerous monuments of rural architecture, brick classicist houses, sandstone fountains and other monuments.
